These are a few of my Favorite Things ~ Music Artist Edition

Welcome back!  In this post I’m sharing ~a few of my favorite things~. I thought y’all would like to get to know me better – and what better way to get to know me than read about my favorite things?

Music

This is where I’m going to lose a lot of y’all.

Don’t Hate me.

But…

My favorite music is country.

Go ahead.

Hate me.

Leave.

But I love it so much! I’ve been listening to country music since I was in the womb ~ literally. There is only one time I have ever listened to anything else.  For whatever reason in elementary school – I want to say around third or fourth grade – I thought country music was lame and Radio Disney was in.  Why? I don’t know.  I blame it on my Hannah Montana obsession.  Anyway, that lasted like a year.  Otherwise I’ve listened to nothing but country music my entire life, and I will never change.

ANYway, here are my top five favorite country singers:

5) Dierks Bentley, Billy Currington, Shania Twang, Garth Brooks

Okay so I can’t possibly pick only five artists to be my favorites, so I combined four of my favorites into the number five category.

Dierks Bentley is the man. He’s hot, has a great voice, and makes great music.  I am LOVING his current song “Burning Man.”  My favorite song from him has to be “Come a Little Closer” or “Drunk on a Plane.”

Billy Currington is a beautiful human being.  I saw him live at a Tim McGraw concert a few years ago and he was so great.  My number one favorite song from him is 100% “Good Directions.”  It’s in my top five favorite songs of all time.

Shania Twang. Is THE QUEEN. I love her oh so much.  I was hardly alive for the 90s but once I got into middle school and discovered Pandora, all I listened to for three years was 90s country.  If I had to pick between a $5,000 paycheck and attending a Shania Twang throwback tour show? I’d pick Shania 100% of the time. Her fave song of mine is probably “Any Man of Mine.”  SO GOOD.

Okay my last #5 slot is the iconic Garth Brooks.  How can you not love him?  He fell into the shadows for like a decade but then he came back! Honestly the first couple songs he came out with I wasn’t a fan of, but then he released “All Day Long” and holy moly was I thrown back to the past with that song.  I’d kill to go to one of his concerts from way back when. Ugh.

4) Thomas Rhett

Arguably not really country, but still one of the most talented men in music, is Thomas Rhett Akins. He came to the scene when I was in middle school and I instantly fell in love.  And then he pushed me over the edge over the years with his family. Thomas Rhett’s family is the ultimate goal.  His gorgeous wife Lauren and their beautiful babies are so perfect.  I actually think I’m turning green.  Anyway, his most recent song “Sixteen” is my current favorite of his.

3) Luke Bryan

Holy hot, HELLO Luke Bryan. Not only is he a beautiful human being (and he’s in his forties?!?), but he has an amazing voice.  I’ve been listening to Luke Bryan for as long as I can remember.  His first couple albums are my favorite (as opposed to his newer stuff).  My favorite song of his is probably “Country Girl (Shake it for Me).”  (It was always my favorite warm-up song before volleyball games in middle and high school).

2) Kenny Chesney

Kenny Chesney is such a classic.  I have yet to see him in concert, but he’s next on my list.  Kenny is a babe and his 90s and early 00s work is the best.  I live for “She Thinks my Tractor’s Sexy,” “I Go Back,” and “Big Star.”  SO GOOD.

1) Tim McGraw

Oh my word.  Tim McGraw.  The light of my life.  Holy moly. I. Love. Him.  He’s such a stud.  The bad-boy attitude he had early in his career makes me swoon.  Tim McGraw was the first concert I ever went to.  I still think about that night on a weekly basis and it was a good four years ago.  Also Faith Hill? His wife? GORGEOUS. Perfect.  And the two of them together? Iconic.  I went to their Soul2Soul Tour a couple years ago and was completely blown away.  My #1 all-time favorite song (of Tim McGraw’s and of all-time) is “Real Good Man.”  He sang that song at his concert and lifted up his shirt while singing one of the lines – I honestly thing I blacked out when he did that.

Okay well there you have it! My top five (or eight) favorite country artists of all time.  Leave a comment below of who your favorite artists are and why!

Much Love,

MCC
